I practiced law in southern California for twenty years. The first five years were a struggle to keep the doors open but eventually, I figured out how to market my services and built a successful, multi-office practice. In 1997, I wrote and published "The Referral Magic Marketing Program for Lawyers," which became the best selling marketing program for lawyers in the world. Over the last ten years, I've helped thousands of attorneys, in over a dozen countries, get more clients and increase their income. The marketing and publishing business did millions of dollars in sales and I made a good living in those years, but I didn't get rich. Like most professionals and small business owners, I was a victim of the "self-employment trap," trading time for dollars.
